The family of Isaac Bull were Quakers.

At age 15 on Sept. 29, 1668, he became an indentured apprentice for a period of seven years to William Williams, a carpenter from Stow-on-The-Wold, Gloucestershire, England.

Of this family, Isaac and Jacob, brothers of our Abraham In 1760 built Ironworks in Kent, Litchfield, Connecticut and the first of at least five wooden bridges in Kent. Later Bull’s Bridge was named for them. Bull's Bridge takes its name from Isaac and Jacob Bull, who started an ironworks here in 1760 and also built the first of at least five wooden bridges that have crossed this rocky, wooded gorge. The present span is believed to date from 1842. An example of the lattice truss patented by Ithiel Town in 1820, the bridge carries what was once a major highway from Hartford to Newburgh, New York, on the Hudson River.

Spanning the Housatonic River in Kent, CT, Bulls Bridge dates to about 1842.  The bridge is named for Jacob and Isaac Bull who started an ironworks at the site in 1760.  The lattice truss design single lane bridge is approximately 110' long.An inn was built at the crossing over the Housatonic River by Jacob and Mary Bull, who were married in 1762. They ran the inn successfully (the Bull’s Bridge Inn is still a restaurant!) , although Mary was somewhat pressed for time having been “blessed with twenty children.”
